“I take my artwork with me wherever I go”

“I take my artwork with me wherever I go”

The photographs are part of a series developed over several years, in which I transpose elements of my earlier spatial installations into new contexts, using them as a form of artistic intervention in public space. The intention is to create a spontaneous and unforced interaction between myself – the artist – and the artwork, situated in environments that are unconventional for art, in unfamiliar settings, whether in a metropolis or a rural landscape, most often within the context of an artist residency.

The marsh grass, already partially browned, is featured in six windows as a material I often use in my spatial installations. It symbolises our transience and the fragility of the world around us. Artistic interventions, particularly in public spaces in large cities, were something new and daunting for me. I overcame my hesitation, which in a way also speaks to my sensitivity and vulnerability as an artist.

The photographs were taken by various friends and artists in different cauntries: France, Austria, India, Slovenia.
